A film based on the wildly popular family TV show of the same name, which aired for 12 years and depicted a widowed father and his three sons as they maintained and defended their ranch, BONANZA is a meaningful, dramatic Western with a message. James befriends the Cartwrights and they protect him from Seringo, wanting to avoid violence on their land at all costs, but the feud must come to a head in a final dramatic faceoff. A subplot follows Benjamin's romance with neighboring farmgirl Anny; he wants to marry her, but she wants to travel to Paris to pursue a career as a piano player. Roy and his pals at the Double-R-Bar Ranch go after a shady gang that stole Trigger. In an action-packed episode, Roy and Trigger return to the ranch in preparation for an anniversary broadcast.
