Everybody's favorite cowboy Roy Rogers teams up with the lovely Dale Evans in four episodes of the classic television show. In episode one, Roy must save the day when a band of thieves set out to steal an old rancher's gold. It's 1850 and the old west runs wild. Gene Autry has just been elected as the mayor of a California boomtown named Quartz City, and he's determined to impose the law on this ungoverned and turbulent community. His first order of business is to get rid of the gambling den run by the nefarious Tod Rawlings (Larry Lauter), and his hostess Bee Laverne (Christine Larson). He then imports a trainful of women to help domesticate the town, and Rawlings attempts to steal the train and its cargo to sell them to some love-starved miners. Gene and his trusty #1 deputy manage to foil his plans, however, and the persistent Rawlings mounts a last-ditch effort to take over the town. Telly Savalas (KOJAK) stars as Vince Carden, a Wild West landowner with a violent antipathy towards the Apaches, upon whom the government is about to bestow some nearby land. Vince and his thugs carry out a robbery and frame the Indians, engendering a war that the Cavalry is sent in to break up. Meanwhile, Vince`s brother Paul (George Maharis) rides into town, and the siblings resurrect a bitter rivalry of their own.
