John Wayne – Lone Cowboy

No actor personified the mythic American ideals of rugged individualism and vigilante justice more than John Wayne. This collection features a quartet of vintage Westerns starring Wayne in quintessential lone-crusader mode: THE LAWLESS FRONTIER (1935) finds The Duke returning home after an absence of eight years to track down the renegade bandit who murdered his parents; in THE STAR PACKER (1934), Wayne plays a US Marshall on the trail of an outlaw gang who have been terrorizing a small frontier town; THE HURRICANE EXPRESS (1932) is the condensed version of a 12-part serial in which The Duke searches for a mysterious saboteur who causes train wrecks but eludes capture with a series of masterful disguises; and in THE TRAIL BEYOND (1934), Wayne encounters hidden treasure and a murder frameup while searching for a friend's missing daughter in the Pacific Northwest.
