The Cowboy Creed (DVD)

As the first of the singing cowboys, Gene Autry pioneered an entire genre--and influenced such later stars as Roy Rogers and Tex Ritter--with his signature blend of musical and Western styles. This collection presents a triple feature of musical classics starring America`s favorite cowboy: in RIDERS OF THE WHISTLING PINES (1949), Autry is a forest ranger framed for murder by corrupt loggers who want to harvest protected land; in SPRINGTIME IN THE ROCKIES (1937), Autry plays a ranch foreman who resents the cattle ranch`s new city-slicker owner; and in MAN OF THE FRONTIER (1936), Autry goes after a sneaky saboteur who has been dynamiting an irrigation project.
